“My love of dogs has existed for as long as I can remember.
It wasn’t until I was 10 years old however, that I got my first dog, Rambo. The golden Cocker Spaniel puppy who lived up to his name only with his larger than life personality.
Rambo came into our lives at a difficult time. As a family, we were grieving the loss of someone dear to us and Rambo bounced in and raised everyone’s spirits and supported us all through an extremely sad period of our lives.
Rambo changed my life and gave me a connection to dogs that never went away. He was my best friend and remained so for 14 years. Since Rambo, I have never been without a dog by my side.
Now my four-legged best friend is Coco the Boston Terrier.
In fact, Coco is more than a four-legged friend, she is a much loved, very important, valued member of the family.
As a qualified therapeutic counsellor working in the mental health sector my job has been rewarding but long hours and an emotionally demanding work-load, I was regularly feeling burned out.
I have always had a deep desire to work with dogs and to run my own business. In the hope of gaining a greater work-life balance and finally being able to work with dogs, I have decided to join the My Best Friend family who is giving me the opportunity to achieve a long-term goal.
Knowing how important Coco is to the whole family and how much we all love her I have a real authentic understanding of how loved and important your dog is to you. The happiness and wellbeing of your dog will always be my priority and Coco and I can’t wait to welcome your beloved dog into our home and hearts.
*Coco herself is on her way to becoming a therapy assisted pet so that in our spare time we can help people in the way that Rambo helped me and my family all of those years ago.“

Home Boarding

My Best Friend provides a safe, secure and fun home-from-home stay within a family home selected through a network of their carefully selected carers. Unlike boarding kennels, your dog will live as one of the family when in the care of My Best Friend.

All carers will undergo an in-depth interview at their home to make sure they're suitable. Above all else, their carers are certified dog lovers!

• Send you regular "pup" dates during your best friend's stay

Pet Sitting and Puppy Care

We all worry about leaving our best friends home alone but sometimes real life just makes it inevitable. If you have a dog that is unable to join MBF for longer walks then their pet sitting and puppy care service is perfect for you.

They come to your home and provide your pet with a 30-minute visit to check food, water and a short walk to stretch their legs.

This service is ideal for the older dog who is happy to snooze all day or even a puppy who is not yet ready for full walks.

They also cater to a wide range of small domestic animals

• You're a genuine dog lover and want to join the growing team they would love to hear from you.

• After an initial chat, they come to your home to find out all about you. This helps them to find you a dog that matches your home and lifestyle.

• Every council requires a home boarding licence. They help you manage this process and provide you with the necessary insurance.

• Once you join the team you give them your available dates and they find you a perfect doggy match.

• They deliver the dog and help you settle them in, then it's over to you but remember, they are always at the end of the phone.

• At the end of their stay, they pick up the pooch and take them home happy and relaxed.
