We are Mat & Bex and we are brother and sister based in Somerset.

We were delighted with the opportunity to take over the PetStay Somerset franchise at the beginning of October. Bex says’ I am a busy mum, and have lived in Somerset for over 20 years with my husband, three grown up children and our two Springer Spaniels. I have been a PetStay carer for the last 18 months and loved every minute of it. When the opportunity came to take on the franchise we jumped at it.’
Mat says’, I am Bex’s dog crazy brother. I also have 2 Springer Spaniels and a miniature Sproddle that I share with Bex from time to time. The PetStay Somerset franchise came to us at a perfect moment. I am passionate about dogs and I have never wanted to use kennels as I consider my dogs as family members. We understand that many dog owners are like-minded, and keen to place their dogs in a caring family home for a holiday, whist they are away. ’

Do you hate having to put your dog in kennels?… Well there is a better way!

PetStay Somerset is THE home-from-home alternative to kennels, they provide a safe, loving and secure home environment for your dog. All of their carers are licensed and insured, so you can relax and enjoy your holiday knowing that your dog is in safe, loving, caring hands.

The PetStay service is ALL about your dog being happy in a safe and comfortable environment. Unlike kennels, your dog will live in the carer's home as one of the family, this means that their normal everyday routines can be maintained and there are plenty of safeguards in place so there is no need for cages.

Your dog will be matched with a carer best suited to their individual needs and requirements, you will then be invited to visit with the chosen carer for a 'first date' this is done before any bookings are confirmed or payments made. PetStay will only board dog(s) from the same home with a carer.

Dogs really do enjoy their PetStay holidays, and always return home happy and relaxed.

Great find

Always difficult knowing what to do with the dog when going away, but PetStay home boarding takes all of the worry and hassle away - the dog ends up having a better holiday than you do.

Elaine is always very helpful and provides carer options and match ups aligned to your dog. The brief meet up before you book is helpful to get a feel for the carer, their setup and any resident dogs.

Always slightly concerned when leaving her, not because she will miss us but just hoping that she behaves herself. But the carers are experienced dog people and seem to take it all in their stride.

Will use again and would recommend!

Wonderful service

It was with some apprehension that we left our very boisterous 9mo flatcoat Retriever Nero with Ruby Rutherford. Not for worry about the pup or his experience but for Ruby and her lovely Oska. Nero is a typical adolescent teenager who pays little or no attention to what Mum and Dad say; he thieves everything from full egg boxes, newspapers, garden plants, scissors and remote controls simply to initiate a game of chase. We were delighted to find that, while still boisterous, he had mainly behaved himself and obviously loved Ruby, Tim and Oska. We even got an email with a picture of the two dogs while we were away. We cannot recommend this service too highly.

So Glad we found PetStay

We are so pleased that we found PetStay. As it turned out, our carer was just around the corner from us.

We have used kennels in the past and our dog was obviously not happy when he got back and it was at least a week before he was behaving himself. We have used PetStay twice now and on both occations, he has come back relaxed and it was as if he had never been away. I think he had as much fun on his break as we did. We will definately be using PetStay again.

Home from home care

I have recently become a carer and am really enjoying the furry friends who visit. I have had to retire from nursing, but am also a qualified animal nurse so an asset to this type of work. Elaine the organiser was so warm and genuine when I met her immediately putting me at my ease with regard to the process of dog sitting and I trust her to look after me and my requests for the type of pet I'd prefer to stay here. I would recommend this professional caring and well organised company you will be relaxed when going away and leaving your furry friend with one of our carers. Well done and thank you Petstay!

Peace of mind

Having only just moved to Somerset we didn't have a network of dog carers and our daughter was getting married. I won't ever use kennels. I met Odie's carers who were lovely, the dog let me know he was happy.
He had a great break as did we.
It was easy to arrange and will be using the service again

Fantastic holiday homes for dogs

We have used pet stay Somerset a couple of times and on both occasions we have been very pleased. The people that look after our dogs are so kind and such doggie people that we can go away and know that they are cared for as if they were their own. Would highly recommend this company.
