A local, self funded Branch of the RSPCA who rehabilitate and rehome animals in need and support our local community

To carry out the mission of The National RSPCA, the responsibility of rehabilitating and rehoming animals is in the hands of locally managed RSPCA teams. Our Branch is one of the country’s oldest local RSPCA centres; we’ve been performing the work of the Charity since 1965Back then, we were known as the RSPCA Doncaster, Thorne and District Branch and in 1996 eventually grew to become the RSPCA Doncaster, Rotherham and District Branch we are today. We receive no government funding and as a result rely heavily on the generous donations of the public, and our own methods of income generation such as fundraising events and our charity shops.

Based on the Great North Road, just a stone’s throw from Bawtry, our Centre began as the legacy of a passionate supporter of The RSPCA. We are just one example of the willingness of the public to care for local animals.

With a proud history behind us and a great deal of dedication, we’re working with the support of our valuable volunteers and staff to address animal cruelty, just as The RSPCA always has.

The work at our Centre, in our retail outlets and in the community, together encourages a positive push towards improved animal care and responsible pet ownership.

We value all animals, so it’s not just cats and dogs that we take care of here at our Centre. We have the capacity to look after 44 dogs, 46 cats and 22 rabbits as well as a number of small animals ranging from birds to mice with a great deal of others in between.

Once rescued by RSPCA Inspectors from neglect and cruelty, our Team work tirelessly to ensure that each animal that comes into our care can be rehabilitated to find a forever home that will love and look after them.

Through commitment and devotion, we find over 1,000 animals a new home or release back into the wild every year. With your support, we can continue to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome local animals that have been subject to cruelty and neglect.
