Dog Bed Buying Guide

Autumn + New Season =  shopping!

This weekend really did feel like the start of Autumn, with the beginnings of a frost and mounds of fallen leaves on the ground it was a reminder that it's time to get the winter coats (both dog + human) out of the wardrobe and start enjoying some fantastic Autumnal walks together

So what is the secret to ensuring your dog can really relax and make the most of their snooze time on an Autumnal Sunday afternoon? Apart from the obvious thing that no discerning canine would be without (a toasty wood burner with a well stocked log pile) there are a few other things you can do to ensure your dog's snooze environment ticks all the boxes and guarantees you both get a peaceful afternoons nap.

Unlike their fussier feline counterparts dogs are a decidedly more sociable bunch when it comes to their sleeping habits, which often means dog owners have to purchase a couple of dog beds to keep their pals happy around the home.

Size really does matter!

Make sure you select a bed that your dog wont outgrow. Of course as most dogs love to sleep intertwined with their canine pals if you have more than one dog it pays to include them when you're choosing the right size bed.

If your dog (and most are) is prone to rolling around in the Autumn leaves or Summer grass it's a good idea to opt for a fully washable dog bed that's also quick to dry.

Hardiness

Dogs like to play with most things they find in their vicinity so it's worth investing in a bed that will last well into next Autumn. Check it's designed to be pulled around and survive play time with a boisterous dog!

Elevation

Dogs who suffer from joint pain won't appreciate lying on their bed atop a cold floor so its worthwhile investing in a slightly raised bed that will keep them more comfortable.
