Whilst I have never used another Vet, I have experienced other Practices when helping family/friends. I have had many dogs and cats and have never, on any ocasion, found Marlows to be anything other than totally professional, knowledgeable, helpful and compassionate. Every single member of Staff has the same helpful and pleasant manner. My animals are not frightened when with them. I have nothing but gratitude for the help they have given my animals and myself throughout all the years. As I get older, things are a bit more difficult to me but with their help nothing is a problem.
Highly recommended to anyone who has not yet experienced the best you can get.

Had to have one of my cats put down earlier in the year and the whole team in Chepstow were so kind and thoughtful. My other old cat hasn't got long either but again Will and the team have been so helpful and kind. They have always looked after my cats so well. Definitely recommend this practice to anyone who has a pet.

Generally we have fantastic service here, however the owner Caroline could really do with some people skills, I'm sure she is a good vet, but her people skills leave a lot to be desired. Telling me my cat looked poorly, well why else would i be bring him to the vets, then telling me off for feeding my cat more than normal. (he had lost weight and his appetite and the previous vet told me to feed him whatever he wanted and would eat!!!

I can't fault the excellence of the staff at Marlows. The attention to detail, compassion and efficiency of the practice is second to none. They have been superb at taking care of our elderly cat who has had many complications, they have extended and improved her quality of life despite a previous vet suggesting she may have to be put to sleep. Highly recommended!!

Will not be returning
I could write a book on the mistakes made by this practice. This practice over charges for everything they do and sell and are only out to take money off customers. I am supposed to feel reassured after visiting a vet but instead I just feel disgusted at how unprofessional a trusted practice can be. Will not be returning and will warn anyone that asks about it in the future.

Definitely would not recommend this practice. We had a terrible experience with Marlows, Communication was very very poor and they did not appear to know what they were doing. Our little Jack Russel was put through many tests and overnight stays over a few months - we were eventually told that he would need a heart operation and it would cost £10,000 - We took our little dog to another practice and he was diagnosed with an enlarged prostrate gland. One very common procedure later and our dog was fit and well and never suffered again. To think we could have put our dog through a major heart operation, needlessly, sends shivers down my spine.

Had to take our old lab here when a random swelling appeared on his leg. Due to the seriousness of the diagnosis (bone cancer) they could not do enough to help us. The dog was seem by all three vets that were in the sugary at the time, and their honest opinions and genuine compassion made a very difficult decision to let the dog go, much less painful. Thank you to all at Marlow vets who helped us.

One of our cats had a serious head injury after being involved in a RTA. The care and support he had was second to none and the extended support we had as his owners was also exemplary. The staff at Marolws realised that we needed time to visit, that may not have been during normal surgery times and were around to answer questions but gave us the space we needed to be with our cat. He survived and came home, with follow up visits to Marlows to complete his treatment over the next few months and 1 year later he is a happy cheeky boy who is still very independent.
Great treatment, great service and staff who really care about thier patients. Would recommend to others.

I would wholeheartedly agree with other comments made about Caroline. Her manner is very abrupt and bordering on rude. I would also agree with comments about it being an expensive practice. No two consulting fees are the same, they vary hugely with no explanation. I was also perturbed by comments made by a young male vet who assured me, when I said I had no insurance, that he “would try to keep the costs down then”. Surely costs should always be kept to a minimum, little wonder insurance premiums are going up. There seems to be a dual pricing scale going on, also validated by other dog owners in Magor. Shame as the vets (Paige and Carrie) are brilliant. The rest of it, perhaps not so much.
