A Definitions and Acceptance of the Terms and Conditions


By taking part in the competition you accept and agree to the terms and conditions; If you do not agree with any of the terms and conditions, then you should not take part in the competition
1 Only one entry per email address is permissible

5 The winner will be the first entry drawn at random from all valid entries, subject to eligibility and winner confirmation.
6 The opening date and closing date and time for entries are as indicated in the competition information.
7 Any entries received before the competition opens or after the closing date and time will not be counted.
8 Entries with an invalid email address will be discounted Employees and members of their immediate families (including any live-in partner) of the Promoter and/or those associated with the promotion of the competition, including the provider of the prize are ineligible to enter. Any such entries are invalid.
9 The prize is subject to winner confirmation, i.e. we have contacted the winner and confirmed eligibility.
10 The winner will be contacted as soon as practicable on or after the draw date.
Reasonable efforts will be made to contact a winner via the email address provided when entering the competition.
11 The winner will be notified by email within 7 days of the end of the competition and will receive their prize within 4 weeks;
12 If the winner cannot be contacted or if the winner fails to meet any of the eligibility requirements or is otherwise unable to comply with the terms and conditions, this may result in forfeiture of the prize and the Promoter reserves the right to disqualify that entrant (without further liability to that entrant) and offer the prize to the next eligible entrant and thereafter until a winner is found.
13 The winner's name will be made available;
14 If selected as a winner of a competition, the winner must provide a UK, address for delivery of the prize.

A Definitions and Acceptance of the Terms and Conditions


1. The Good Pet Guys Limited (“GVPG”) accepts publication of Advertisements (as defined below) on the terms and conditions set out herein (“Terms”).
2. These Terms apply to:
advertisements in the Good vet and Pet Guide.com,
Posts across all related social platforms.
3. By placing an order, the “Advertiser” (which is the person bidding for or placing the order for the Advertisement whether they are the advertiser of the product or service referred to in the Advertisement or the advertising agency or media buyer for such advertiser) accepts and agrees to be bound by these Terms in full.
Content and Delivery of Advertisements
4. Materials for any Advertisement must adhere to GVPG’s technical specifications and be delivered to GVPG within the applicable timeframes, each as set out.
5. GVPG may, without any responsibility to the Advertiser, reject, cancel or require any Advertisement to be amended that it considers unsuitable or contrary to these Terms and remove, suspend or change the position of any such Advertisement. GVPG may refuse to publish any Advertisement for any Advertiser who has not paid any sums due for any advertising. The Advertiser will remain responsible for all outstanding charges.
6. The publication of an Advertisement by GVPG does not mean that GVPG accepts the Advertisement has been provided in accordance with these Terms or that GVPG has waived its rights under these Terms.
7. The Advertiser guarantees to GVPG that:
any information supplied in connection with the Advertisement is accurate, complete, true and not misleading;
it has obtained the consent of any living person whose name or image (in whole or in part) is contained in any Advertisement;
the Advertisements are legal, decent, honest and truthful, are not contrary to the provisions of any applicable law, regulation or code of practice (including the UK Code of Non-broadcast Advertising, Sales Promotion and Direct Marketing (the “CAP Code”) and all other codes under the general supervision of the Advertising Standards Authority and/or the Office of Fair Trading), are not libelous or obscene and do not infringe the rights of any person (including any person’s intellectual property rights);
the Advertisement will not be prejudicial to the image or reputation of GVPG or the Website and will not contain anything with GVPG in good faith considers to be offensive or otherwise inappropriate;
all digital Advertisements submitted for publication online will be free of any viruses, adware, malware, bit torrents, and no Advertisement will cause an adverse effect on the operation of the Website; and
all digital Advertisements comply with (i) the standards for online advertising published by the Coalition for Better Ads (https://www.betterads.org); and (ii) the “L.E.A.N.” best practice principles for online advertising standards published by the IAB UK, each as may be updated from time to time.
8. Where the Advertiser is an advertising agency or media buyer, the Advertiser guarantees that it is authorised by the advertiser of a product or service to place the Advertisement with GVPG and the Advertiser will compensate GVPG for any claim made by such advertiser against GVPG.
Payment
9. All Advertisements are accepted on the basis that they will be paid for at the prevailing rates set out in the Order Confirmation on the date of publication. GVPG may change its rates at any time by publishing the modified rates. Any changes to the rates will take effect immediately. However, any changes to the applicable rates will not apply to any orders made prior to the date of such change.
10. All sums payable to GVPG should be made in accordance with GVPG’s Financial Terms & Conditions which are: Unless a customer has applied for and been accepted as a credit account customer, GVPG will provide services only on a pre-payment basis, with receipt of cleared funds prior to the booking being confirmed. Customers wishing to apply for a credit account must complete a Credit Application Form which is available on request from your sales contact. Until credit facilities are granted customers will remain on prepayment terms. GVPG’s standard payment terms are cleared funds from the date of the invoice. If the due date falls on a weekend or bank holiday the payment is due on the first working day immediately prior to the due date. As payment is due as cleared funds, under current banking arrangements, cheques should be despatched and payment by bank transfer should be processed by the customer three working days prior to the due date. GVPG reserve the right to charge interest on late payment at 4% above the Bank of England base rate.

Online Advertisements
11. The Advertiser acknowledges and agrees that discrepancies of up to 10% regarding the number of impressions served are common due to a variety of technical reasons. In the event of any disagreement regarding the number of impressions served, the Advertiser agrees that the figures provided by GVPG’s applicable third-party provider will be final and binding.
12. GVPG cannot guarantee the number of impressions. In the event the number of impressions served during the campaign period is more than 10% less than the number of impressions booked by the Advertiser, GVPG shall, as the Advertiser’s sole remedy, and provided the Advertiser has notified GVPG in writing of such under-delivery, continue to serve the Advertisements after the end of the campaign period until the number of booked impressions is reached. GVPG will not be liable for any over-delivery of impressions (including without limitation in relation to any ad-serving costs) where such over-delivery is 10% or less. Where any such over-delivery exceeds 10%, GVPG will not be liable unless such over-delivery arises due to GVPG’s act or omissions.
13. GVPG agrees that all Advertisements will be targeted at individuals in the UK unless otherwise agreed in writing between the parties at the time of booking.
14. Where non-UK targeting is required, GVPG will endeavor to target the Advertisement at individuals in the geo-location specified at the time of booking.
15. The Advertiser guarantees to GVPG that any landing page and/or destination site linked to from the Advertisements (“Advertiser’s Site”) will (i) be legal, decent, honest and truthful, (ii) not be contrary to the provisions of any applicable law, regulation or code of practice (including the CAP Code), (iii) not be libelous or obscene, (iv) not infringe the rights of any person (including any person’s intellectual property rights); (v) not be prejudicial to the image or reputation of GVPG or the Website; (vi) be free from viruses, adware, malware, and/or bit torrents, (vii) not cause an adverse effect on the operation of the Website, and (viii) have a conspicuous privacy policy which complies with all applicable data protection and privacy laws, regulations and codes of practice.
16. To the extent that GVPG sets cookies on the devices of users of the Advertiser’s Site(s) or uses any other data collecting technology (such as pixels, tags, javascript, or other code, including the tags of third party service providers) for the purpose of tracking impressions and related data (“Advertiser Data”), Advertiser shall ensure that it has a lawful basis for the use of such data-collecting technology and the collection of Advertiser Data from visitors to the Advertisers Site(s) and that the Advertiser and the Advertiser’s Site complies with all applicable data protection and/or privacy laws, regulations and codes of practice.
17. GVPG and its service providers will only use any Advertiser Data solely in relation to the Advertiser’s particular advertising campaign. All such Advertiser Data collected by GVPG will be treated as the confidential information of the Advertiser and will not be disclosed by GVPG to any third party (other than GVPG’s service providers for the purpose of GVPG complying with its obligations under these Terms) without the consent of the Advertiser. In no event will any Advertiser Data be combined with information collected from other sources, except where the Advertiser has agreed otherwise.
18. In the event advertising copy is received after midday on the day before an Advertisement is due to be published, the number of impressions booked will be reduced on a pro-rata basis for every 24 hours that the copy for the Advertisement is supplied after this deadline. For example, if copy is provided 2 days late for a campaign that is due to serve 100,000 banners in a 10-day period, the number of impressions will be reduced by 20,000. There will be no reduction in the fee payable.
Brand Safety
20. GVPG will implement its default brand safety measures in respect of the site on which Advertisements booked will appear.
21. The Advertiser may implement its own brand safety measures and site filters in addition to the default brand safety measures provided by GVPG. Any such additional brand safety measures and filters implemented by the Advertiser shall operate by blocking the relevant Advertisement from appearing on the relevant site after it has been served by GVPG and will therefore not affect the number of impressions deemed to have been served in any campaign period.
22. Where an Advertiser wishes to drop cookies on users’ computers or use pixels, web beacons or other data collecting technology (the “Data Collecting Technology”) for the purpose of displaying or providing advertising on the Website and tracking impressions, analytics, measurement and verification of advertising campaigns (together, “Analytics Data”), it shall notify GVPG in advance of booking an Advertisement and provide all information requested by GVPG regarding such Data Collecting Technology.
23. If GVPG agrees to the Advertiser’s disclosed use of Data Collecting Technology to collect Analytics Data, GVPG will provide written authorisation to the Advertiser. Subject to the foregoing, Advertiser agrees to use such Data Collecting Technology and all data collected from it solely in the manner disclosed to GVPG.
25. All Analytics Data collected by the Advertiser through such Data Collecting Technology will be confidential information owned by GVPG and will not be disclosed by the Advertiser to any third party without GVPG’s prior written consent.
26. In no event shall Data Collecting Technology or the data collected from it: (i) be used by the Advertiser for the purposes of profiling users’ interests, segmentation, or tracking or targeting users when they leave the Website; or (ii) be combined with information collected from other sources; in each case except where GVPG has given agreement in writing. GVPG reserves the right to scan the Advertisements to ensure Advertiser’s compliance with clauses 23-26.
27. The Advertiser shall procure that all other partners and entities in the supply chain with which Advertiser works or contracts in relation to an Advertisement (collectively, the “Advertiser Partners”) shall comply with these Terms.
28. The Advertiser shall ensure it complies with all applicable laws and regulations with respect to such Data Collecting Technology and that all Analytics Data will be deleted from its servers upon the end of the relationship between GVPG and the Advertiser.
Liability of GVPG
30. GVPG accepts no responsibility for any interruption or delay the Advertiser experiences in delivering any Advertisement copy to GVPG or any loss or damage to any Advertisement copy or any other materials. The Advertiser guarantees that it has retained sufficient quality and quantity of all materials supplied to GVPG.
31. GVPG shall use its reasonable endeavours to reproduce Advertisements as provided by the Advertiser but cannot guarantee that the Advertisement will be of the same quality.
32. GVPG will not be responsible for any additions to, changes in, deletions from, delays in publication or withdrawal of any Advertisements required by any authority having responsibility for the regulation of online advertising (including the Advertising Standards Authority).
34. GVPG cannot guarantee the time, dates and/or position of Advertisements and all such decisions will be at the sole discretion of GVPG. However, GVPG will use reasonable efforts to comply with the wishes of the Advertiser.
35. If a booked Advertisement is not published at all solely due to a mistake on GVPG’s part, GVPG will try to offer an alternative publication date(s). If the alternative date(s) is not accepted, the original booking will be cancelled and the Advertiser shall be entitled to a full refund if the Advertiser has paid in advance for the Advertisement. This shall be the Advertiser’s sole remedy for failure to publish the advertisement.
36. If the Advertisement as reproduced by GVPG contains a substantial error solely due to a mistake on GVPG’s part, GVPG shall, on request, re-publish the Advertisement at no additional cost to the Advertiser. GVPG shall not be responsible for repetition of errors and it is the Advertiser’s responsibility to inform GVPG of any errors and provide any necessary assistance to GVPG to prevent a repeat of the error.
37. GVPG shall not be responsible, under any circumstances, for any loss of profit, loss of opportunity, loss of goodwill, loss of anticipated saving, loss of revenue and/or any other loss which happens as a side effect of the main loss suffered by the Advertiser or any loss which could not be contemplated by GVPG and the Advertiser, and GVPG’s maximum total liability for any loss or damage arising out of or in relation to any Advertisement whether in contract, tort or otherwise shall not exceed the total amount of the charges for the relevant Advertisement actually paid by or on behalf of the Advertiser.
38. In respect of Advertisements on the Website, GVPG does not guarantee continuous, uninterrupted access by users of the Website but will use reasonable efforts to provide this. In addition, GVPG will not be responsible for any failure or delay affecting production or the transmission of the Website and any Advertisements contained in them, in any manner where such failure or delay results from any act, omission, interruption, fault or other condition beyond the reasonable control of GVPG.
39. For the avoidance of doubt, nothing in these Terms will limit or exclude GVPG’s responsibility for death or personal injury resulting from its own negligence, fraud or any other liability that cannot be excluded.
41. Nothing in these terms and conditions shall affect the statutory rights of an Advertiser who is a consumer.
Liability of the Advertiser
42. The Advertiser will fully indemnify GVPG from all investigations, claims, fines, losses, damages, costs (including reasonable legal fees) expenses and liabilities arising as a result of any breach or failure to comply with any of these Terms and/or the use or publication of the Advertisement by GVPG in accordance with these Terms.


Rights
43. GVPG owns the copyright in all Advertisements written or designed by it or on its behalf.
44. The Advertiser grants GVPG the right (free of charge) to:
use such of the Advertiser’s names, trademarks and/or logos as GVPG may consider necessary for the purposes of publishing the Advertisements.
Cancellation policy
45. The cancellation period for an Advertisement varies according to the publication. The Advertiser should refer to the relevant rate card. The Advertiser may cancel an Advertisement provided that notice in writing is received by GVPG within the relevant cancellation period. In respect of Advertisements on the Website, the minimum notice period for cancellation by the Advertiser is 30 days unless agreed otherwise. Please send notice of your intention to cancel to the person who made your booking. Cancellation will only be effective on confirmation of receipt of your notice.
46. If the Advertiser is insolvent or bankrupt or is otherwise in breach of these Terms, GVPG may treat the order as cancelled.
General
47. A person who is not a party to these Terms has no rights to rely upon or enforce any of these Terms.
48. If GVPG fails or delays in exercising its rights or remedies provided by these Terms, it shall not be deemed to have waived that or any other right or remedy under these Terms.
49. Nothing in these Terms shall be deemed to constitute a relationship of principal and agent, a partnership, joint venture, or co-ownership. Neither party shall have the authority to act for, bind or otherwise create or assume any obligation on behalf of the other, and neither party shall hold itself out as having authority to do the same.
50. These Terms are the entire agreement between the Advertiser and GVPG in respect of the Advertisements and no modification to these Terms will be effective unless made in writing and signed by both GVPG and the Advertiser.
51. These Terms and any documents referred to and therefore incorporated by reference herein shall apply to the exclusion of all other terms and conditions which the Advertiser purports to apply to the purchase of Advertisements (including, without limitation, terms in any insertion or purchase order, e-mail, acknowledgment or click-through agreement). To the maximum extent permitted by law, other than as set out in these Terms, all warranties and representations, whether express or implied, are excluded.
52. Subject to clause 41, these Terms (and any non-contractual obligations arising in connection with them) shall be governed by English law and the courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction in relation to these Terms (and any non-contractual obligations arising in connection with them).

Whilst no one likes to receive a negative review, if your business is online they are a fact of life. Most people care deeply about the service or product they provide so a negative review can seem like a personal attack.

What should I do if someone writes a negative review about my business?

The first thing to say is NEVER take it personally. A negative review is just a snapshot in time of one person's experience. You can’t please all of the people all of the time, no matter how hard you try or how great you are.

People rarely bother to take the time to write a review unless they have strong emotions either way - there are very few reviews which record the service they received as merely 'satisfactory.' Positive and negative reviews should be treated as having the same intrinsic value. They represent a unique opportunity to hear exactly what your customers think of your service. While it’s important to look for patterns in your reviews (e.g., people keep saying that reception staff are rude or that your products disintegrate after a couple of weeks), you should never take any single review to heart.

Most users of The Good Vet & Pet Guide are looking for a consensus among all of the reviews they read rather than accepting the odd negative review as the be all and end all. Although negative reviews will irritate you a lot, you should try and place them in a wider context. If, however, you seem to be attracting more than your share of negative reviews it is probably a sign that something might be wrong.

Remember - having one or two negative reviews amongst a backdrop of 4 and 5 star reviews won’t hurt your business, but, what it will do is make your listing look real and authentic. This can be further bolstered with a thoughtful and balanced response.

What should I do if someone writes a negative review?

We don’t arbitrate disputes, so your best bet is to post a public response in order to set the record straight from your perspective. A well-crafted and reasonable response can sometimes mean more that a load of positive reviews. People will be able to see you in a positive light and as everyone knows, there are two sides to every story.

We cannot and will not, however, investigate individual complaints so please do not send us reams of correspondence either in support of or refuting a particular complaint. We are unable to mediate between parties.

Can I have my business listing information removed from The Good Vet & Pet Guide?

Clients have the right to talk about what they like (and don’t like) about pretty much anything. We don’t remove business listings, so your best bet is to engage with your fans and critics alike, and hear what they have to say.

We do, however, moderate reviews and do not tolerate profane language or similar. We also do not accept anonymous reviews and may ask reviewers to prove that they are a bona fide client of the business they are reviewing. If the reviewer fails to provide the necessary confirmation, we will not publish the review.

There are occasionally circumstances where we can disable the ability for people to leave reviews on your listing. This is not recommended as clients will draw their own conclusion as to why you are not willing to receive honest feedback and take their business elsewhere.

How can I trust reviews posted on The Good Vet & Pet Guide?

We started out life as a consumer review site of veterinary businesses, so we take the integrity of reviews seriously.

There are occasions when people try and manipulate the system by posting bogus reviews, good and bad. There can be several reasons why we may reject a review but it is most commonly because the email address is not real or that the business has tried to review themselves. Whilst we are not perfect, we have seen several examples of reviews that we have rejected appearing on other dog friendly directories.

In conclusion, reviews are a great way to build your online reputation as a high quality and trusted business. There will always be occasions where people behave unreasonably but that is just a fact of life.

Rather than just becoming angry or burying your head in the sand, you should take the opportunity to look at whether there is anything you can do better.

Reviews that contain defamatory allegations of fact will be removed. However, clients will be given the opportunity to express their honestly held opinion about any business on our site.

We will request evidence that the reviewer has been a client of the business before publishing if there are any doubts over authenticity, If, on request, the reviewer cannot provide reasonable evidence we will not publish the review.

If the person leaving the review has proved to us beyond a reasonable doubt that they are a paying client of the business, but will not produce a review that is acceptable to our terms and conditions we will remove the comments but publish the star rating.

We reserve the right to edit the reply provided by the business if the response infringes the client’s confidentiality, or does not fulfill the ‘decent, legal and honest’ criteria that all reviews must meet.

Any duplicated reviews or those which do not seem to be produced by a human (spam) will be deleted.

Once logged in go to your page and click on the 'Gear' symbol 

This will reveal a drop-down menu with the options to edit your page / add or edit media

Your page will then be submitted to admin for approval
