Little Briar Cottage Is A Dog friendly Cottage in Lochearnhead, Perthshire
Pet friendly cottage on three acre grounds with exceptional scenic walks and a garden on Loch Earn for fishing, petanque & kayaking
Dogs adore Little Briar. For some its the spacious paddock garden to run straight onto and play fetch, others adore the stream that runs the length of the garden where there is a splash pond. Pet guests have also enjoyed swimming from the slipway and jetty or walking on the old railway walkways.
The cottage sleeps up to 4 in a double and twin room. If there are only 2 guests staying then you are welcome to bring 2 dogs. The cottage is compact and cosy with an open plan L shaped Kitchen, dining and lounge area. The bathroom has an electric shower over the bath.
Pets can be closed in on the decking area at the main door using the fence panelling to close off the two exits.
Lochearnhead village has 2 hotels with lounge bars within a 200 metre stroll. Owners Km and Fraser Proven provide more information on what to see and do and where to eat and drink on their website. Kim is chair of the Loch Earn Tourism Information group and is only too happy to assist with local knowledge and attractions further afield.
Some pets have given permission to have their photographs placed on the Proven's website and on Facebook, Google+ and their Twitter site @Briarcottages. Don't forget your camera. Taking pet pics is one thing but you will be amazed at the photographic view points from the top of the garden to the loch garden where sunrise and sunset are different and stunning all year round.
The Proven's live in the old B Listed thatched cottage on the grounds. This adds to the photo opportunity and they will be only too happy to let you take a photograph inside their lounge of the original scots pine timber cruck ceiling.
If you ilke art, Briar Cottages hosts two pieces on the #BLiSStrail in their garden on Loch Earn. The BLiSS trail is a regional Scottish Thistle Award winning art trail that links Lochearnhead with its neighbouring villages, St Fillans on Loch Earn to the east and Balquhidder and Strathyre to the south. You can also fish for trout from the garden without a permit during the months of March 15 to October 6th.
There is a jetty, slipway and temporary mooring if you want to bring a small boat, canoe or kayak. Play petanque in the garden piste.. where the boules and cochinette are available. 6 fun putting flag holes go up in the fairer seasons and you can use the summer house all year round.
