St Magnus Haven - Pennan, Aberdeenshire
The pictureque village of Pennan is situated on the seafront at the bottom of cliffs midway between Banff and Fraserburgh in North East Aberdeenshire
The red telephone box, used in the film 'Local Hero' starring Burt Lancaster, still remains and has become quite a tourist attraction.
Pennan, surrounded by open countryside, nestles beneath cliffs with the most beautiful sea views. Seals and dolphins can often be spotted in the sea which is also popular for surfing. A birdwarchers haven, the cliffs are full of many seabirds such as gannets, fulmars, guillemots etc, and as such are now looked after by the RSPB
