If you’re looking for a beach getaway this summer then look no further… Holkham Wells Beach - Norfolk is one of the most un-spoilt and beautiful stretches of sand in the country, even Gwyneth Paltrow has visited!!

Behind the shoreline lies a semi-circular basin which rapidly fills to form a spectacular shallow lagoon during high tides.

In October 2015 Holkham Beach became the proud winner of ‘Best Beach Category’ in The Kennel Club’s ‘Be Dog Friendly Awards’.

Alongside the beach also features Holkham Estate Beach Café – Norfolk which is the perfect spot for walkers, bird-watchers, dog-owners and families.

Dogs are made particularly welcome with a number of services available.

Dogs have the chance to re-fuel their energy with a quick drink for their exciting day ahead as well as a ‘Wash ‘n’ Wag’ service allowing muddy/sandy pups to rejuvenate themselves or even just a quick cool down during hotter seasons! Happy Dog Happy Owner.

It is safe to say that Norfolk makes the perfect location for all of the family to enjoy (and those with 4 legs of course!)  Sometimes it pays to be organised well in advanced, especially when you’re bringing a 4-legged friend along too.

Here are some tips to ensure your dog is well equipped for during a day out / holiday:

Always bring a bottle of water, it’s a necessity.

If your dog requires specific needs phone ahead in advance and try to get these sorted prior to arrival, trips are meant to be stress-free after all!

It’s handy to have an up-to-date Vet visit before going away. Your dog will come in contact with other animals so its important for their health to be in tip-top condition.

Keep a copy of any emergency details your pooch may require i.e. medication.

Create an itinerary of where you’re going. Planning and booking dog friendly attractions and restaurants will save you a lot of time in the long run.

Have fun and stay safe!
