Barrow Hill Veterinary Hospital - Ashford, Kent

The Barrow Hill Veterinary Hospital is housed in a purpose built, air conditioned, building, with ample free car parking. The hospital is headed by Mark Hurst, one of the Directors, with a large team of vets who are all experienced general practitioners.

In addition, each member of the team has their own area of special interest, including all aspects of internal medicine, cardiology, radiology, soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery. The nursing team consists of Qualified Veterinary Nurses (RVNs) and nurses undergoing training within the practice.

We consider that continual twenty-four hour, on site care is an essential part of our commitment to the welfare of your pets. This is why our nurses are present, in the hospital, to monitor and treat our patients throughout the night.

Our Vets are on call throughout the night, meaning our patients are cared for by our staff; we won't send you elsewhere when you need us most. The hospital has been independently inspected by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons and been accredited to its highest standard, of a tier 3 hospital. We are also an accredited training practice for veterinary nurses.

Best Practice!
I can't recommend the practice highly enough. The reception staff, nurses and vets are all completely committed to the welfare of animals.

I tried a number of nearer practices when I moved to Ashford 14 years ago before I found Barrow Hill. I can honestly say that Mark Hurst and the team have always been there when my cats and I have needed them 24/7. Honest with prognosis, positive and supportive even when news is not good.

If I could give this vets 100/100 for everything - I would. This vet surgery is about the animals interests and welfare, not money. On our first visit, Mark Hurst knelt down and made a fuss of our dog, using his name, and Buddy's tail nearly wagged off! On examination, Mark found a large tumor, and with the dog's interest at heart, Mark said he could do scans and tests, but if they confirmed what he knew, would we put him through an operation at his age? Of course not! But to see our Buddy at ease with him, when he'd been petrified of our former vet, we knew we were in the right place. We could feel the love in all the staff - if you love your pet - this is the place to go.
