Blue Cross Animal Hospital - Victoria Animal Hospital, London

Blue Cross Victoria animal hospital treats thousands of pets every year, with treatments ranging from routine neutering to complex operations. The hospital is thought to be the oldest of its kind in the world. It opened in 1906 and has never closed its doors to needy animals since. It was the headquarters of Blue Cross for many years. In 2001 it was rebuilt and has state-of-the-art veterinary facilities.

It has extended its services so it can reach people and pets who struggle to get to the hospital, including mobile veterinary clinics, a community vet nurse to make home visits and an ambulance service to help transport animals to and from the hospital.

This hospital has saved both my dogs: Millie when she suffered eclampsia after giving birth, and, yesterday Sandy, one of the boys from Millie's litter. Sandy is now eight years old,. While clipping his coat I accidentally cut the tip of his tail and it would not stop bleeding. I'm a pensioner and both dogs are registered with the Blue Cross but in any case the Victoria hospital is the only one open 24 hours. Yesterday they amputated his tail tip and he's now sleeping it off. vaccinations and so on,
