The current building has a purpose-built extension with off-road parking comprising a generous waiting room, two large consulting rooms, pre-operation preparation room with ultrasonic dental equipment, operating suite, separate dog and cat kennels, walk-in kennels, and isolation ward. We also have ultrasound, radiography and laboratory rooms.

More importantly it is staffed with dedicated veterinary nurses, nursing assistants and receptionists that really enjoy their job. The vets love animals. Simple really. No wonder the atmosphere is great.

I have been a client here for over 15 years but recently, their protocols and the vets attitude has just got worse and worse.
I went in for a routine health check and 2nd vaccination. All of my dogs are only vaccinationed against DHP.
I mentioned to the vet that we would only be vaccinating against DHP. He stood and glared at me for a few minutes.
The vet then started lecturing me on how 'I'm putting my dogs at risk and how stupid I am.'
I informed him I had made my decision on facts and research. He didnt even want to know what facts or even offer advice on why he found my decisions incorrect and just kept telling me all I know is wrong and the facts are wrong - how would he know if he wouldn't discuss?

I had previously seen another vet in this practice who was fine just to vaccinate against DHP.
How can two vets in the same practice run such different opninions and treat their clients with such disregard?!

The vet then stormed off and I had to get the nurse to remind the vet to sign the vaccination card for just DHP - the nurse was just as rude.

When questions about who the practice manager is all the reply she would give was 'medivet' when asked for contact details to make a written complaint she made out like they dont have any contact details for medivet and to find them myself! I find it hard to believe the veterinary centre wont have contact details for medivet!

I've moved all my pets to a different local veterinary practice after discussing DHP vaccinations and the way Hillside Veterinary centre handled the situation and they were disgusted that the vet would react like that!
The vet at our new veterinary practice was more than happy to vaccinate against DHP only and advised they have quite a lot of clients who like to make informed decisions on which vaccines they want to use.
