Excellent Vet: Saved My Dogs Life

I've been going to William McNeil in Aberdour for a good deal of years, both with my last Cocker Spaniel and the Cocker Spaniel I have at the moment who is currently recovering from a very nasty virus which is very like Parvovirus in its symptoms, but due to my dog being up to date with vaccinations, don't think it can be (unless it's been a stronger strain of the virus that the vaccinations are not protecting dogs from now). When I was interviewed for the Fife Free Press Article I named the vet and said I was delighted with the attention, care and speed in which William McNeil treated and got on top of this virus, which had gone from severe vomiting and diarrhoea, to attacking his organs in the space of 24 hours. The paper didn't print these details so I thought I'd write this review and include the website link to the Fife Today article. I have always found this Aberdour vet to be, yes without frills of fancy surgery and waiting areas, but a wonderful, friendly and truly genuine, caring vet and vet assistant. If he is unable to do any specific tests or anything he always refers you on to the hospital. His prices are also a fraction of all other vets in Fife, and he makes it a far more affordable service (without frills). I've previously had a couple of very bad experiences with other top named fife vets and have to say I've always been happy with the service offered by William McNeil. Here's the article relating to my dog who is still recovering, but I have no doubt, would not be here today, had it not been for the expertise, swiftness and care of this Aberdour vet. http://www.fifetoday.co.uk/news/local-headlines/fife-dog-owners-warned-to-be-vigilant-of-mystery-virus-1-3795742

Local Vet

I have used the services of Billy McNeil for over 20 years. He is an intelligent, intuitive vet who treats the animal in the right way. The surgery is basic yet adequate. His prices are well below average however this does not reflect in the services received. Wouldn't consider any other options .

McNeil, Aberdour, vet surgery

Conditions a bit basic but care excellent and value for money way better than some of the big name vets in and around Kirkcaldy. He actually listens to what is required rather than inventing illnesses costing hundreds of pounds in unnecessary treatment. Tried persuading two of the big name vets that my cat did NOT have fleas--I know what a flea looks like having seen infestations of them yet both vets combed the cat for ages and found NO evidence, yet charged me about £250 overall for treatment.
Mr McNeil listened, looked and treated my wee cat with an injection which cleared up the problem within a week. My brother takes his dogs here--not the nearest but the cheapest and best we have found
